Teacher Appreciation Week

The Woodbrook PTO will be celebrating our teachers and staff all week May 2-6th. This is a great time of year to thank the wonderful teachers and staff at Woodbrook who give so much of themselves to our children! The PTO has several activities planned, and we hope you will join us in celebrating all of our incredible Woodbrook staff.

  1. The PTO would like to ask parents to bring in baked goods or other snacks on Monday, May 2nd, or anytime during the week. A sign-up genius is available to try to spread the love (and the food!) across the week. However, don’t feel limited by the sign-up; please feel free to bring something in anytime that works for you! www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B4BAEA728A64-teacher
  1. The PTO will be providing lunch for all staff at Rhett’s River Grill. Staff will go to lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, May 3-5th. Teachers may need parent volunteers to help out in their class midday so they are able to leave class for the hour, particularly in the upper grades (2nd-5th grades) that do not have a teaching assistant. If you are available to help out from 11-12noon on either Tues, Wed or Thurs of that week, please sign up in the sign-up genius above. You will not be asked to teach class (promise!), just to assist other staff members.
  1. The gift card raffle! Here’s how it works: Parents send in gift cards to local businesses ($5 or $10 gift cards are great!) and the gift cards are raffled off on the morning announcements on Friday, May 6th. The goal is to collect enough gift cards for each staff member at Woodbrook to receive one. This tradition started in order to better recognize our amazing reading specialists, teaching assistants, office staff, speech therapist, guidance counselor, custodians, cafeteria staff, school nurse and ALL the amazing Woodbrook staff. We currently have a total of 90 staff members at Woodbrook, so it’s a big project! Please consider sending in one or two $5 gift cards to businesses like: coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, ice cream shops, stationery stores, or any other business! If you would like to participate, please send gift cards (or funds to be used to buy gift cards) in to school in an envelope addressed to: Woodbrook PTO no later than Wednesday, May 4th. You can sign up for this as well in the sign-up genius above so we can track how many we still need.
  1. Lastly, anything that your child might enjoy doing during the week of May 2-6th (or any other time!) to express their appreciation for their teachers. We’ve provided a few suggestions, but feel free to be creative.
  • NOTES FROM STUDENTS: Any type of note, poem, word cloud, or whatever your child comes up with!
  • STUDENT ARTWORK: posters, drawings, paintings, paper flowers, origami. Teachers have told us they love seeing their students’ creativity in action!
  • NEED AN IDEA? We’ve attached a template of thank-you notes that your child can use to thank some of their favorite staff members!

Please contact Sara Henry if you have any questions!
