Woodbrook Elementary PTO

There are so many great ways to volunteer at Woodbrook.  Please consider contributing your talents to an event or activity.  The more people who sign up, the more people to meet and enjoy as we support our kids.

1. One way to help out is to volunteer at a particular event.  For example, we typically participate in the following events:

Events

Teacher Luncheons (August, September, January, June)

PTO Ice Cream social/Family Dinner Nights (August, October)

Election Day Bake Sale (November)

Movie Nights/Game Nights/Bingo Nights (September, November, January, March)

Holiday Market (December)

Sweetheart Dance & Silent Auction (February)

Teacher Appreciation Week (May)

Box Top Program (2 xs per year)

Attractions Book (August-September)

Restaurant Fundraisers (approximately 1 per month/every other month)

Fun Fair (May)

Other???  E.g., ACAC Family Night, Bounce, Play & Create, Talent Show, 5K, Holiday Bazaar, End of year picnic, etc.

2.  Another way to think about supporting the PTO is to take on a small role that occurs multiple times a year.  For example the following are anticipated recurring roles:

Recurring Roles

Copying (photo copying fliers and distributing to teacher mailboxes)

Classroom parents (1 meeting/month, 1-2 emails per month)

Student Directory (August, January)

Yearbook (Spring)

Grounds/Gardening (August, Spring)

Spirit Wear (primarily August, lingering orders throughout year)

Staff favorites (August)

Volunteer Recruitment (ongoing)

Grocery Rewards Program (ongoing)

3.  Another way to think of volunteering is think of your own personal strengths as well as your availability.   In that vein, can you. . .

Assist school staff during the school day?

Assist school staff after school?

Bake/purchase food/supplies?

Provide administrative support at school?

Provide administrative support from home or work?

Volunteer at events (#1 above)?

Develop community partnerships?

Coordinate/lead a current PTO sponsored event (#1 above)?

Donate time or services in other ways?

Donate supplies or monetary support in other ways?

Please let someone on the board know if you are interested in helping out with any/many of these.  There are so many ways to help!
