Redistricting Resources

The Woodbrook Expansion creates 200+ additional seats at our elementary school.  This Fall a redistricting committee with representatives from the urban ring elementary schools, potentially affected middle schools and a variety of other stakeholders have been meeting to formulate recommendations to the School Board as to how to fill those seats.  Below are some resources to learn more about this process and how you can participate.

Monday, September 18th, 6-8pm

Monday, October 2nd, 6-8pm

Monday, October 16th, 6-8pm

Monday, October 30th, 6-8pm

Monday, November 13, 6-8pm

Monday, November 27, 6-8pm

Location: Agnor Hurt Media Center

(Note these meetings are open to the public but the audience is not allowed to speak or ask questions)

Whether or not you are able to attend any of the meetings, you can email any questions/comments/suggestions/concerns for the committee to consider at rac@k12.albemarle.org.

Woodbrook’s representatives (Malva Mangan and Jen Smith) will be in the Woodbrook Library at 7pm on Thursday, November 2nd to provide information and answer questions you may have.

Community Meeting

Wednesday, November 8th, 6:30pm, Agnor Hurt Cafeteria

This meeting is specifically designed to solicit public opinion on various redistricting options being considered.

School Board Meeting

The School Board will be holding a public hearing, date/time/location TBD sometime in January to seek feedback on the Committee’s final recommendations.  The Board will vote shortly thereafter on how to proceed with redistricting.

Spring Semester 2018

Once we know which neighborhoods will be joining the Woodbrook Community, we will plan a variety of activities to meet and welcome our new families.  We welcome any and all to join us in this endeavor.
