School News!

  1. C.A.R.E.S. Trait of the week is Trustworthiness.
  2. As stated in a previous post, please take time to have your voice heard regarding redistricting.  We will be welcoming new students regardless but it is important to be thoughtful and intentional in how we approach redistricting to best serve the needs of all our county’s students.  You can review the plans under consideration here and then share your views via a survey found here and/or via email to [email protected].
  3. The Virginia Film Festival is Saturday, November 11th.  Woodbrook’s 4/5 students will be showing their films from 9:15-9:45am in Campbell Hall on UVA’s Art Grounds.  There will be a bus leaving from Woodbrook at 8:45 to pick up students and their families if they would like to avoid the hassle of parking. The bus will also be picking up students from the following neighborhoods: Rio Hill (8:50), Mallside (8:51), & Abbington Crossing (8:57). All students riding the bus must be accompanied by an adult. The bus will depart from UVA at 9:45 once the showing has ended and will return to the neighborhoods and lastly school at 10 am.  If you are reading this for the first time via the Sunday, email blast, you very likely missed the show.  Fear not!  An encore presentation will be offered during the 2nd quarter 4/5 family dinner.  Stay tuned for the date and time of this community gathering.
  4. The next all-school  morning meeting will be on Tuesday, November 21st.
